So the pre-season is officially here - the movies are showing around town, expo season is upon us, and cold wet storms are hitting the coastline. 11.11.11 welcomed a cut off low to California last night - my 5:55 pm flight from LAX to SFO didn't depart until sometime around 10 pm, meaning I got close to midnight. It was a stiff, bumpy ride up out of SoCal, with reports of winds gusting at 45 on the mountain crests. It will certainly help Mammoth open strong.

After three great days in Saas Fee, we awoke early on Friday for the trip to Zermatt. We had found a great last minute deal at Hotel Europe und Spa (thanks to expedia.co.uk) on a four star hotel in Zermatt the night before, and were able to drop our luggage off there in the morning…
